ProjectWise Project Performance Dashboards Help

Configuration when using ProjectWise attributes to group and track document status

If you’re using a ProjectWise attribute(s) to group/categorize ProjectWise documents (for example by Discipline, Specification, Area, Milestone or Purpose of Issue) and another attribute to track their completeness status (for example 10%, 30%, 60%, 90%, 100% complete), then some minor ProjectWise Project Performance Dashboards Settings configuration will be required in order to see this data on the Dashboards page.

This configuration step is needed to help ProjectWise Project Performance Dashboards service to "learn" how to interpret and visualize the values of your ProjectWise attributes.

ProjectWise Performance Dashboards Settings page allows configuring what ProjectWise attributes should be used for ProjectWise project documents grouping and completion tracking. Based on this configuration “Documents grouping by” and “Documents completeness” charts will be generated and displayed in the Dashboards page.

To configure:

  1. Click on the Settings button in the upper right corner of Project Performance Dashboards page to open ProjectWise Project Performance Dashboards Settings page.
  2. ProjectWise Project Performance Dashboards Settings page opens. “Document grouping” and “Completion tracking” attributes are not set by default.

Configuring what attribute to use for document grouping

This page allows specifying what ProjectWise attribute(s) should be used for ProjectWise project documents grouping and/or categorization.

  1. Open the “Document grouping” section in ProjectWise Settings page.
  2. Select "New" to create new grouping option based on values of specified ProjectWise document attribute.
  3. Select document attribute from "Using attribute" pop-up. It will display all available ProjectWise documents attributes (including custom setting attributes).
  4. Set the label for grouping option in "Group documents" field. This label will be displayed in "Documents grouped by" chart for end users to see and select (if there are more than one grouping rule configured).
  5. If you are using multiple attributes to group ProjectWise documents, select "New" and repeat the steps above.

Configuring what attribute to use for completion tracking

This page allows configuring dashboards to display documents completeness tracking information by specifying what ProjectWise document attribute should be used for document completion tracking.

Tip: It is recommended to track document completion/status using larger % intervals (ex. 10%, 20%, 30%, …) and avoid counting by small numbers (1%, 3%, 7%, 11%, …). Counting by small numbers might make it more difficult to read the data in the charts.
  1. 1.Open Completion tracking in ProjectWise Project Performance Dashboards Settings page.
  2. Select "Document completeness attribute" drop down and choose attribute that is used to track document completeness (only one attribute can be selected for all document groups/categories). "Document completeness attribute" drop down will display all ProjectWise documents attributes (including setting attributes).

Once configuration is finished, it may take approximately 20 minutes to process data, generate 'Documents grouped by' and 'Documents completeness' charts information and show it up on the ProjectWise Project Performance Dashboards page. Click "Project Performance Dashboard" link in the header to come back to Project Performance Dashboards page for the selected project.
